This is an example of mid-level student work. This poster covers the majority of the points I was looking for about covalent bonds and compounds. There is a minor error in #3 on the poster "molecules are formed by multiple covalent bonds" which is confusing the concept of multiple bonds (double & triple bonds) and a molecule that has many different bonds because it has 3 or more atoms in the molecule. A correct way to state it would be "a molecule is formed by 2 or more atoms that are linked by one or more covalent bonds). The students have the visual of a Lewis dot structure but no other visual as required in the assessment. The students were well prepared and their presentation contained the information as written on the poster and the students were able to answer my questions about how the octet rule is satisfied in covalent bonds and compounds.
